looks like a lawn mower but does a very different job.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It has knife blades spaced out on a reel, which act like a comb.<\/li>\n<li>The blades comb the lawn, forcing out any build-up of moss at grass root level.<\/li>\n<li>The blades height can be adjusted to remove as much or as little as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Why Does a Lawn Need Scarifying?<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>To remove dead grass, this is called thatch<\/li>\n<li>To remove moss and weeds<\/li>\n<li>To prune grass plants and encourage new growth<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>How to Use a Lawn Scarifier<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Before turning on the machine, adjust the blade height.\u00a0 This is best done on a hard surface.<\/li>\n<li>Start the motor and test that you have the blades set at
