The higher the pressure the tougher the cleaning they are capable of.\u00a0 They require a steady, uninterrupted supply of water.<\/p>\n<p>Before you use a pressure washer it is important to have the correct safety equipment and be aware of the correct operating procedures.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Safety goggles and rubber non slip shoes as well as long sleeved clothing will protect you from the dirt and debris.<\/li>\n<li>Keep your work area clear from children and pets<\/li>\n<li>Move plants or breakable objects away from your work area if possible<\/li>\n<li>If using a petrol or diesel power washer check the level of the fuel<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that the hose and nozzle are connected properly and that all the connections are tight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How To Use a Pressure Washer<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Set the spray nozzle to a low or no pressure setting.\u00a0 This will prevent recoil or kickback when the machine is started.<\/li>\n<li>Turn on the water supply before turning on the pressure washer to avoid damaging the pump.<\/li>\n<li>Start the washer and allow a minute or two for the water to run through the machine and to remove any air.<\/li>\n<li>Hold the nozzle about 2 feet from the ground surface.\u00a0 Any closer and you risk damaging the surface.<\/li>\n<li>Keep the spray at about a 45 degree angle to the surface.\u00a0 Holding the spray \u201chead on\u201d or straight will drive the dirt into the surface instead of washing it away.<\/li>\n<li>Work small areas at a time.\u00a0 It is best to work top to bottom, left to right in long overlapping strokes.<\/li>\n<li>Keep electric lines well away from the work area<\/li>\n<li>If using a petrol or diesel washer, switch off the engine and allow to cool before refuelling<\/li>\n<li>When you are finished, stop the machine, turn the water off and make sure to remove any remaining water in the hose.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Important to Remember<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Never use a pressure washer when standing on a ladder<\/li>\n<li>Keep your hands away from the water stream and don\u2019t point the spray at people or pets. The pressurized water can cause serious cuts and other injuries.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t spray windows or glass objects like patio table tops. The high pressure can shatter the glass.<\/li>\n<li>It is not advisable to use pressure washers in an enclosed area.\u00a0 If it is necessary make sure the area is well ventilated and there is a
