What Does Scarifying a Lawn Mean?

• A lawn scarifier looks like a lawn mower but does a very different job.

• It has knife blades spaced out on a reel, which act like a comb.
• The blades comb the lawn, forcing out any build-up of moss at grass root level.
• The blades height can be adjusted to remove as much or as little as needed.

Why Does a Lawn Need Scarifying?

1. To remove dead grass, this is called thatch
2. To remove moss and weeds
3. To prune grass plants and encourage new growth

How to Use a Lawn Scarifier

1. Before turning on the machine, adjust the blade height.  This is best done on a hard surface.
2. Start the motor and test that you have the blades set at the correct height
3. Change direction for second and progressive runs.  This removes more debris faster.
